My name is Becki and I live with my husband & children on a 22 acre small holding in Brechfa, Carmarthenshire.
From an early age I have had a passion for nature and wildlife, and moving to a small holding was our family dream. In 2016 this became reality. After keeping many different animals in the first few years of living here, including pigs, sheep, and geese, we found our ideal residents, a herd of alpacas which are often in the fields surrounding the studios waiting to greet you when you arrive for your class.
Finding the balance between running a solo business and carving time to do the other things that bring me joy is a work in progress, but as I have got older the importance of this balance for my mental well-being has become more clear. In my free time I prioritise spending time with my family, the alpacas, and simply being outside surrounded by nature. I also enjoy dancing which I have done since I was three years old, and feel blessed to still be able to take part in classes as an adult. My other interests include drawing, reading, photography, and going to the theatre.

After experiencing chronic, dehabiltating back pain from early 2004, an MRI identified that I would require an operation to remove part of my disc that was impinging the nerves near my spine. In 2005 after having back surgery, my Osteopath recommended I try Pilates as a way of regaining my strength and mobility. Overwhelmed by the speed of my recovery and the reduction in pain once Pilates was introduced into my rehabilitation programme I made Pilates a regular part of my routine.
In early 2009 after funding for the role I worked as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate came to an end, I decided to complete my Pilates teacher training so that I could pass on the benefits that I had found for my own body to others.
After attending a course in Pelvic health I had an assessment which resulted in the diagnosis of a pelvic organ prolapse. Determined to learn all I could about how to improve this, I completed more in depth training. This has helped me to improve the prolapse, and I now rarely experience symptoms. I am a passionate advocate for pelvic health, and helping women to improve issues that society accepts as being normal.
