A warm welcome, my name is Becki and I am the woman behind Cothi Valley Pilates.
My husband, myself, and our two children relocated to our smallholding in rural Wales in 2016. We wanted a lifestyle that involved more of the outdoors, was slower paced and would improve our wellbeing.
We found that when we moved to Carmarthenshire. Everything here is more relaxed, and there is nothing more beneficial for your mental health than stepping outside and soaking in the magical views of the Valley, and of course our alpacas grazing in the fields.
When I'm not busy at home or teaching Pilates, I enjoy reading, hiking, and painting as ways to relax and decompress.
After experiencing chronic, dehabiltating back pain from early 2004, an MRI identified that I would require an operation to remove part of my disc that was impinging the nerves near my spine. In 2005 after having back surgery, my Osteopath recommended I try Pilates as a way of regaining my strength and mobility. Overwhelmed by the speed of my recovery and the reduction in pain once Pilates was introduced into my rehabilitation programme I made Pilates a regular part of my routine.
In early 2009 after funding for the role I worked as an Independent Domestic Violence Advocate came to an end, I decided to complete my Pilates teacher training so that I could pass on the benefits that I had found for my own body and Mental Well-being to others. I have never looked back.
Your physical and mental wellbeing is my top priority. I am committed to supporting you to improve your complete wellbeing through movement. Pilates focuses on alignment, breathing, and centring. This by its very nature requires concentration, which means that you can focus on yourself without distraction.
All of our classes are small in numbers to ensure that you get individual attention and are exercising safely. The enrollment form you complete before starting classes ensures that I can taylor each session to your individual health and wellbeing needs and goals.
The backdrop for all of your classes are our Suri and Huacaya Alpacas. These peaceful animals create a sense of calm and relaxation, providing the perfect complement to your classes.
